We took the 4 pm tour, so it appeared all the employees could not wait to get off and were going through the motions of the cruise. She got information wrong about the city, and she sounded like a pre-recording rather than someone who cared about what she was doing. She showed no personality on board, did not make the tour personable to anyone on the boat, and did not carry anyone's attention. She read from a mental script, and had it memorized, so it did not matter that the boat already passed landmarks, she was going to stick to the script. Our tour guide went through the motions of her verbal tour. My fiance and I overheard 2 employees at the dock arguing over pay stub material from the Gateway Clipper, while another smoked his E cigarette among the patrons. However, with the exception of the captain and the ticket booth, the employees on the dock and boat acted as if they did not want to be there, and conducted themselves unprofessionally. The city of Pittsburgh is brilliant to look at, and the actual visual tour of the city was quite nice.
